Ah, the desert... Where the possibilities are as numerous as the grains of sand. And that’s why the Wasteland Gang doesn’t want to give up control. This group of marauders specializes in scavenging scrap metal to manufacture vehicles capable of crushing any form of rebellion. Get in the driver's seat and fire up the nitro to dominate the road in Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 5 - Season 3: Weckred.

WELCOME TO THE DESERT

The island was recently hit by a severe sandstorm. A new ecosystem has been created in the south of the island: the desert. The Wasteland Gang has already taken possession of this new territory. Which may seem legitimate, since it arrived thanks to the storm... This group moves as fast as their personalized cars allow. The places they built bear witness to this:

REDLINE RIG

Redline Rig is a nitro refinery controlled by the Machinist. She is a mechanical expert in the pay of the Wasteland Gang. What is nitro used for? Whether you have a vehicle or not, nitro will make you feel dangerously powerful...

NITRODROME

Scarr Queen of the Ring knows better than anyone when it comes to chaos and destruction. That's why she hosts the car shows in the Nitrodrome.

BRUTAL BEACHHEAD

Brutal Beachhead is the base of operations for the Desert Warriors. This is where you'll find Megalo Don, the toughest of the Wasteland Gang. Be careful because he is hot-blooded.

There are plenty of things to discover in the desert. For example, Snooty Steppes was transformed into Sandy Steppes.

NITRO GALORE

You'll find nitro squirts spread across the island or nitro barrels from Redline Rig. A nitro spray allows you to transport nitro that you can inject into your vehicle (or your own body). Nitro Barrels are nitro containers that apply the nitro effect on impact.

These nitro barrels are thrown when you hit them, then they explode when coming into contact with another element. Drive without looking back!

Nitro provides several temporary benefits:

DEAL POWERFUL BLOWS WITH NITRO GAUNTELTS

Equip the Nitro Gauntlets for melee combat. You have the choice between a chain of 3 strikes, an uppercut or an aerial blow which allows you to do a rush in the air.

Nitro Gauntlets have four charges, each has an 8 second cooldown. The uppercut and overhead kick consume one charge each, while the 3-strike chain does not consume any. If you perform an aerial strike towards the ground, you cause an impact like a meteorite that hits nearby enemies.

STRENGTHEN YOUR VEHICLE

Vehicle modifications are back! The rock plow and all-terrain tires are reintroduced. Four other modifications join the adventure. You can attach a change per location:

Machine Gun Turret(roof location): A passenger can fire the machine gun while someone is piloting!
Grenade Turret(roof location): Some will cry pollution, but grenades are clean since they leave no trace after exploding.
Spiked Bumper(Front Bumper Location): Deals more damage to players and objects on impact.
Stone Hunter (front bumper location): increases hit damage and grants armor to your vehicle.
Bulletproof Tires (Tire Location): Are you tired of having a flat tire? Use puncture proof tires!
All-Terrain Tires (Tire Location): Your car moves more easily off-road. Especially handy if you don’t drive an SUV!

You don't need any mechanical knowledge. Simply head over to a vehicle modification box with your car to equip the modification. You can tell what type of modification you are equipping by the symbol on the box! What happens if a slot is already in use? You can then replace this modification with another or reset yours. It may be useful to replace a modification with a low HP bar. (Note: Bulletproof Tires do not have a HP bar since they are indestructible.)

What if your car’s HP is low? Smash a Repair Mod Box or take matters into your own hands with the Repair Torch being reintroduced!

You'll get a glimpse of the future with your next pit stop. Gasoline stations have replaced gas pumps. They allow you to refuel your vehicle and your PV by parking at the station location.

REPAIR YOUR CAR

Since Chapter 5 - Season 1, you can transform the island's sports cars into your equipped vehicle. You can now equip SUVs! There will be chassis compatible with SUVs in the item shop. Rocket League SUV chassis will also be eligible for multigames in the future.

To get you started, the Behemoth Pack is available in the Item Shop. There you will find the objects of the new desert set. So you'll feel right at home in the desert!

Can't decide between an SUV or a sports car to put on a show in the Nitrodrome? In your locker you will have different arsenals for both! Items from the Behemoth Pack will be eligible for multi-game ownership with Rocket League in the future.

* The off-road wheels for the Behemoth are no better than other wheels for going off-road. They just match the car!

TAKE CONTROL OF THE WAR BUS

Once out of the battle bus, face your opponents to take control of the coveted war bus. Two war buses are controlled by patrol boats on the island. Hijack one and go cause mayhem! Each warbus is equipped with two mounted cannons and a horn, which produces an electromagnetic pulse. Electromagnetic pulses damage the shields of nearby enemies. In addition, they temporarily disable vehicles in the surrounding area. These mobile monsters have several electromagnetic pulses that recharge after a short delay!

CREATE A TRAFFIC Jam WITH A DETONATING CROSSBOW.

If some are blocking your way, use a detonating crossbow. This is a modifiable crossbow with a high rate of fire and which sends explosive bolts. After a few well-placed shots on a Whiplash, it will be good for scrapping and will cause traffic jams from Reckless Railways to the Underworld (well, it's not like we're rushing to get there).

RESPONSIVE PILOTS

You can find the Wasteland Gang in their hideouts or showing off aboard a convoy. If you find a way to beat them, you will get many rewards…

EXTERMINATE THE MACHINIST

You will receive the Machinist's medallion by eliminating her. The Machinist Medallion allows you to regenerate your shield over time!

If you eliminate the Machinist in Redline Rig, use the medallion to open the garage for her car. If she's on a convoy, you'll have to take her custom car by force! You will obtain her mythical weapon: the Machinist's combat assault rifle, no matter where you eliminate her.

DEFEAT SCARR QUEEN OF THE RING

If you end Scarr's queen of the ring show by eliminating her, you get her medallion. The Queen of the Ring Scarr Medallion gives you unlimited ammo and you get a small damage bonus!

DEFEAT MEGALO DON

So you want to tackle the big guns... Megalo Don's medallion grants you unlimited nitro!

There are still things to discover with nitro. By eliminating Megalo Don, you will be able to obtain his car (as with the other members of the Wasteland Gang), but also his mythical Megalo Don Nitro Gauntlets!

By the way, Megalo Don's unlimited nitro makes us think that all three desert warrior cars also have unlimited nitro.

🛑 Medallions indicate your location on the map... Which is particularly practical for someone who is wandering around and looking for a target to eliminate. If you have a medallion in your inventory, you will be indicated on your opponents' map. The more you have, the more precise your position on the map.

QUENCH YOUR THIRST WITH NUKA-COLA!

This apocalyptic desert gives us a feeling of déjà vu... So treat yourself by drinking a cold bottle of Nuka-Cola! It restores a little HP and shield over time 👍.

REFRESHING CACTUS

Remember that it's not so much the desert itself that will pose a problem for you, but rather its renowned warriors. Destroy a blue-green cactus with a pickaxe to distribute healing around you! Pardon ? Are you saying you don’t want to get out of your vehicle? In this case, drive directly on the cactus to heal both your vehicle and yourself.

Don't even try to keep your new car intact. Reintroduced weapons and old weapons are at your disposal at the start of Chapter 5 - Season 3:

Playing Chapter 5 - Season 3 on mobile? We've improved the HUD on mobile in Battle Royale so you can better see the action on your screen! We've merged some buttons so there are fewer on screen. We have also repositioned some icons.

These changes will not apply to players using a custom HUD. You will always have the option to create your own ATH.
